This map shows the amount of land that contains harvestable
timber that is not within undevelopable wilderness. I really wanted to map the percent of
wilderness per state, but the amount is <1% for the majority of states,
which would have led to a very depressing and uninteresting looking map. The original source of this data comes from
the North Central Research Station of the U.S. Forest Service, but I used an
Excel file I found on The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis website: http://www.minneapolisfed. org/Research/data/specmap/us02-11.cfm. The picture was taken from http://www.dentons.com/en/find-your-dentons-team/industry-sectors/forest-products-and-agribusiness.aspx.
